In moulding machines, a bulk moulding compound(BMC) is placed in the cavity for moudling.
Every part requires some specific weight of BMC.
The operator by his experience fetches the piece from the BMC lot.
He doesn’t weigh it. Hence following 2 things may happen.
If weight of compound is less than the required weight, the finshed part is rejected (scrap).
If weight of compound is more than the required weight, result is increase in wastage.
In both the cases, scrap is generated leading to losses.
To prevent this, we have designed a system for BMC applications.
The operator first weighs the BMC. If the BMC is within the specified limits of required weight, the machine is enabled to start. This is provided by an interlocking arrangement.
Also the weighing data is stored in a data acquisition module for analysis.
